The Retrofit Kit consists of two LED strips with magnetic back, 42" x 1", One 40 watt high efficiency driver with universal input 90v-277v, and quick-connect wiring harness to connect driver to LEDs. The troffer body is shown for installation instruction purposes only, it is not included in the kit. The LED strips and the driver are magnetic backed, so they literally attach themselves to the troffer body in seconds. The photo shows the kit installed in a troffer. Note that you need not remove the existing ballast or sockets/brackets if you don't want to. The kit fits between the socket brackets, and there is plenty of room under the ballast cover to install the driver. Of course if you want to, you may remover all of the existing fluorescent items, but with or without them, the result is the same, and of course, you can't tell the difference when the lens is closed. The entire body of the troffer becomes the heat sink for the strips, making them operate at extremely low temperatures (around 36C or 92F), which dramatically extends their lifespan and efficiency. Our incredibly efficient LEDs produce an amazing 5150 lumens while consuming only 40 watts! This 2-strip kit will produce much more and much better light than a 4-lamp T12 or T8 fixture. A 4-lamp T12 fixture consumes about 190 watts, and even an "efficient" T8 fixture consumes over 120 watts. We have a dimmable version which operates on a standard commercial 1-10v dimmer.
